La vieille Ferme is situated in the quiet hamlet of Vallon d’en haut in the valley bottom, close to the Giffre river and one of the great pleasures of living where we are is that, not only do we have the benefits of the winter season, but also the summer season.

The Alps are very close by, rising directly behind La vieille Ferme and it is in this environment that we offer our bespoke walking holidays for groups of upto 8 people, based at La vieille Ferme, using our local knowledge to provide exactly what you would like.

Walking, Mountain biking, trekking with donkey, cycling, riding, all manner river based activities, parapenting, use of the leisure park for boating, tennis, basketball, archery, golf, trampolining, fishing in lake and river, climbing, via ferrata, abseiling. Outdoor swimming in the town adult and toddler pools, water slides, adventure parks and much more.

Walking is one of the most enjoyable activities available in this stunning part of Alpine France. The GR5, one of the Grandes Routes of European walking, passes right in front of La vieille Ferme.

With or without a donkey, for half days, days or overnight, perhaps using the “refuges” dotted all over this Alpine region, La vieille Ferme is an ideal base for exciting trips along the beautiful valley bottom or into the more challenging mountains.

Mountain Biking for our guests who are interested and competent mountain bikers, is provided by 2 local companies: Bike Alp who have the expertise, local knowledge and experience to cater for all your needs. Only 500m down the road is Ride the Alps who Ride the Alps who specialise in point-to-point trips in the Alps and elsewhere, offering the sense of achievement that comes with following a classic route to reach your final destination.
